Alloy Steel Gr B7M Washers are made of chromium-molybdenum steel with 0.38–0.48% carbon, 0.75–1.00% manganese, 0.15–0.25% molybdenum, and 0.75–1.20% chromium for additional strength and resistance to corrosion. The washers are tempered at 1100°F (593°C) minimum to provide added toughness and resistance to hydrogen stress. The mechanical properties are a minimum tensile strength of 100 ksi, yield strength of 80 ksi, and hardness less than 235 HBW. Best suited for high-pressure, high-temperature conditions, they are also used extensively in petrochemical, oil, and gas operations where durability and reliability are most important.
